MISSION STATEMENT
The United Way of Alamance County, as an organization of donors and volunteers, exits to provide
opportunities to the community to address its human service needs. We strive to identify those
needs, to educate the community, and to acquire, organize, and allocate resources in a manner
that ensures accountability and maximum effectiveness.
LOCAL
Your contribution stays in Alamance County, funding local nonprofits
and initiatives. United Way addresses needs that are most critical
to our community .
EFFECTIVE
Before receiving a penny of your gift, agencies and programs
must prove they provide a vital service to our community. Our
United Way helps people who really need help.
ACCOUNTABLE
Volunteers representing all walks of life become experts in the
needs of the community. They distribute the money United Way raises,
then monitor annually how well those programs are using your gift
to solve local problems and serve human needs.
EFFICIENT
United Way invests a higher percentage of your gift back to the
community than most nonprofits nationwide. That means we put more
of your money where you intend for it to go- where it will help
the most people and do the most good. Checking the Community Fund
on your pledge form insures that you are helping to support nonprofit
agencies that work everyday to build a stronger, better Alamance
County. Or if you choose, you can designate your contribution
to any 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
