Vaya Health and the Alamance County Mayors Committee for Persons w/ Disabilities (ACMCPD) is excited to welcome Dustin Chandler of the Interaction Advisory Group for a special presentation titled Autism & Developmental Disability Stay Safe Program on OCTOBER 29th, 2026.
Dustin is a former law enforcement officer, current Paramedic, and parent of a child with a rare neurological disorder and Intellectual/Developmental Disability (I/DD). He has partnered with the NC Council on Developmental Disabilities to share his unique knowledge.
In addition to training for first responders, a Community-wide program will be held that evening from 6:30pm – 8:00pm in the First Floor of the Student Services Building, Alamance Community College. This presentation will focus on developmental disabilities and how to better understand and support loved ones and community members. Self-advocates, caregivers, and anyone from the public is welcome and encouraged to attend. Topics include online safety basics, wandering prevention, and more.
