For decades, the Community Council has brought people together to support and improve life in Alamance County. What started as a way to coordinate local support services - like healthcare, education, and community programs - has grown into a powerful network of passionate changemakers.

Today, our council brings together volunteers and local experts from all walks of life. Our members include leaders from nonprofits, schools, local businesses, government, faith communities, and civic clubs.

What We Do
The Community Council works to make Alamance County a better, more informed place for everyone. Together, we:

  • Build Strong Connections: We help local organizations work together and plan for the future.
  • Share Vital Information: We look closely at what our community needs and find the right resources to help.
  • Find Solutions: We raise awareness about local challenges and brainstorm ways to fix them.
  • Keep Improving: We always look for ways to make our community services better and more effective.

Meeting Our Community Where They Are
To make sure everyone has a chance to participate, we now host our meetings at different locations throughout the county - from Burlington to Graham to Mebane.

In addition to our monthly meetings, we support the county through the Community Resource Guide and our Community Council Announcements newsletter.

Our Shared Values
We believe our community is strongest when everyone has a seat at the table. The Community Council unites different groups to tackle big issues, inspire volunteer work, and connect people to the resources they need.

Our mission is to spark positive action that builds a healthier, fairer, and more caring community. We celebrate diversity and treat everyone with equal respect. We are dedicated to making sure our council reflects all the wonderful cultures, backgrounds, and identities that make Alamance County a great place to live.

Join us!

We meet on the second Thursday of every month (except July and August). Registration links for each meeting are distributed via the Community Council Announcements, Facebook, and Instagram.
