Alamance Partnership for Children is excited to launch the Alamance County Give Like Dolly Community Challenge, a community-wide effort to support Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and help put books directly into the hands and homes of young children in Alamance County.
Through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, enrolled children receive a high-quality, age-appropriate book mailed directly to their home each month. The Give Like Dolly Community Challenge invites individuals, businesses, organizations, and community partners to come together and invest in early literacy, one child and one book at a time.
Community members can participate at any level, including $9.25 as a Friend of Early Literacy, $25 as a Dolly Day Supporter, or $925 as a Community Literacy Champion. Community Literacy Champions will also have the opportunity to be recognized for their support, with permission.
As Dolly Parton reminds us, “I just see a need and if I can fill it, then I will.” Together, we can follow that spirit of giving and make sure more children in Alamance County have books of their own and opportunities to develop a love of reading from an early age.
