On the frontline of the fight for our community are thousands of volunteers who bring LIVE UNITED to life by giving selflessly of their time and talents to create lasting solutions and improve the quality of life for all of us who call this home!

Whether it’s reading to children, serving as a volunteer income tax preparer for low-income tax clients, delivering meals to homebound seniors or being part of the annual Day of Caring, there are hundreds of ways to roll up your sleeves and make a difference!

Want to lend a helping hand in Alamance County? There are so many ways to give back in our community!

Please see the opportunities below:

Alamance County Meals on Wheels is in need of volunteers to deliver meals.

Please see the link below or call 336-228-8815 for more information.

The Outreach Department of the Alamance County Public Libraries needs volunteers to deliver and pick up books and other materials from homebound patrons! Anyone who would have trouble coming into the library is eligible for Home Delivery of materials, but we need volunteers to make this service work well. You would deliver once a month to the same people/location, and pick up their materials from the previous month. Currently, we are delivering to people's/facility's front doors, but we hope to be able to go back to visiting with our patrons in the future. All materials are put in cloth bags, and the bags are placed in a rolling crate. You can pick up and return the crate at any library branch. This does require some lifting of bags/crates into your personal car.

Volunteers need to fill out a county volunteer form and background check authorization.

For more information or to get the forms, call Mary Beth at (336) 229-3588 (ask for Outreach or choose 2 from the automated menu).

Are you an EMT, paramedic, nurse, physician, nurse practitioner, physician assistant or vacinnating pharmacist? The Alamance County Health Department is looking for volunteers! They also need other non-medical staff that can help direct traffic and provide support in other ways.
