FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

United Way Announces Leadership Transition

[Burlington, NC, June 11, 2025]

United Way of Alamance County today announced that Lacey Dabbs will be stepping down from her role as President. Dabbs is relocating to Virginia to join her husband, who has accepted a new professional opportunity in the region.

"Lacey has been an exceptional leader who has guided our organization with dedication and vision," said Patrick Noltemeyer, Chair of the United Way Board of Directors. "While we are sad to see her go, we understand and support her decision to prioritize her family during this exciting new chapter."

During her tenure as President, Dabbs significantly strengthened the organization's operational infrastructure and expanded the Tax Time program, which provides free tax preparation services to seniors and low-income individuals throughout Alamance County. Her leadership has been instrumental in enhancing both the organization's internal capacity and its direct community impact.

"Serving as President of United Way has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career," said Dabbs. "I'm proud of what we've accomplished together and confident that the organization will continue to mobilize local partnerships to take action so all can thrive."

The United Way Board of Directors will begin a search process for Dabbs' successor. During the transition, Dabbs will continue to serve the organization in a hybrid capacity to ensure continuity of operations.

United Way of Alamance County thanks Lacey Dabbs for her outstanding service and wishes her and her family all the best in Virginia.
