Welcome runners and hikers!
My name is Roman Newton, and I am the event coordinator for the Stride United 5K Fun Run. I am proud to be a senior at the Alamance Burlington Early College, a varsity runner for Williams H.S. Cross Country and Track & Field, and a Boy Scout belonging to Troop 19. As a scout, I must complete an "Eagle Project" to complete my journey to becoming an Eagle Scout. For my project, I have organized this fantastic community event. Collaborating with local businesses and the people of Alamance County has made this project so unique, and I have truly learned a lot from this project-planning experience. Furthermore, since I have run countless meets throughout my running career, it feels like a wish fulfilled to finally be leading one myself. Stride United truly is a culmination of what I love most: the great outdoors and the local community.
Whether you want to run or walk the trail is up to you as this is not a competitive race, and all are encouraged to enjoy the beautiful park that Cedarock has to offer.
